Privacy Policy
Our approach to privacy
This page explains what Spirited Cart collects when you browse or order, why it is collected, and how you can ask us to change or delete it. The short version is that we collect what an alcohol order legally requires and very little else. Privacy questions that this page does not answer are welcome at the address at the bottom.
What we collect
- Contact details you type in: name, email address, telephone number and delivery address.
- Order details: which bottles you bought, the price paid, the delivery method and the tracking reference.
- Age verification data: the date of birth or identification confirmation needed to establish that you are 21 or over, and the delivery signature record.
- Technical data: the device, browser and pages visited, collected in aggregate so we can see which pages are used.
- Payment data: the result of the transaction and a reference from the payment provider. Card numbers are handled by the provider and never stored on this site.
Why we hold it
Order information is used to pick, pack, deliver and support a purchase, to keep a record of a sale that alcohol regulation expects a retailer to keep, and to answer a question about an order months later. Age data exists only to satisfy the 21 and over requirement. Technical data helps us fix broken pages and decide which bottles deserve a longer description. We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent a mailing list to anybody.
Who sees it
Delivery partners see the name, address and telephone number needed to complete a drop. Payment providers see the transaction amount and the billing details required to authorise it. Technology providers that host the site or send order email may process data on our behalf under contract. Beyond that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it — for example in response to a valid request from a regulator or a court.
How long it stays
Order and transaction records are kept for the period a retailer is expected to retain sales records. Age verification evidence is kept only as long as needed to demonstrate that a check took place. Marketing preferences last until you change them. When a retention period ends, the data is deleted or anonymised.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for corrections, ask for deletion where no legal duty requires retention, and object to marketing at any time. A request can be made by email or telephone using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, which is a protection rather than an obstacle.
Cookies
Cookies keep your cart together, remember your age check and measure which pages are read. The cookie page sets out the categories and how to refuse the non-essential ones without breaking the checkout.
Operator record
Registered business details and alcohol licence information are available on request from customer support. Until that record is published here, treat it as a placeholder.
